Goodbye 2011

Its always bittersweet for me whenever 31st Dec comes around. This is the day when I look back and wonder if I have accomplished anything the last 364 days. The last few months had been filled with excitement as I ran around preparing for the official launch of Sweet Affinity bridal. We had the honor of having the team from Expressively jOhO do the editorial shoot for us 2 days ago and it went beautifully. Now I can't wait to share the beautiful pictures with everyone. Anyway let us now sit back and enjoy the last day of 2011 and look forward to 2012. TO ALL YOU brides-to-be out there, stay tune for our launch and let Sweet Affinity dress you up for your big day.

Merry Christmas everyone!! The last 2 weeks of the year are always the most comforting no matter how crazy things may seem. Let us remember to give thanks for the people in our lives and look forward to a new beginning. Do watch out for the official launch of Sweet Affinity bridal very soon. Wedding Gown or Wedding Costume?

A dear friend asked me how my "wedding costume" business was coming along about 2 weeks back on MSN. I gasped and replied "they are wedding gowns not wedding costumes!". This dear friend is obviously male hence I could still forgive him because to him... "Its the same Sh*t". But to my dismay, I have spoken to countless brides and bride-to-bes who think the same way. A wedding gown is nothing but a mere fancy costume for a day. A costume that should only be rented because it will only be worn once. A costume that had already been worn by many other brides. A costume that is only required to look good in pictures so it doesn't matter that the seams are already falling apart from the countless alterations. At Sweet Affinity bridal, every gown is lovingly made especially for the bride whether it is to be rented or purchased. We believe in perfecting the entire look with the right accessories, shoes, veil and flowers. Your wedding is going to be one of THE MOST days of your life. So will you choose to be in the perfect wedding gown or just another costume?

How befitting it is to choose pink for a sweet beginning. This will be my baby now. A baby I will nurture and grow.

Someone really close just reminded me that running a business is not as easy as it seems. Indeed the path, though short, had been filled with challenges that I could only have gotten through with the help of my friends and family. People around me will know that I am extremely private so what I'm about to start is definitely a big step out of my comfort zone.
Now I have to put my ideas out in the market. Allow my ideas to get scrutinized and criticized by all. Darn...that is something I will need to get use to. Nevertheless this is dream that I've put off for too long. It is time to make that dream into a reality. I'll never know unless I've tried. Sweet Affinity is hereby born and may the dream of dressing up a million brides become a reality!!
